They played their championship match against Concorde Fire Elite in an exciting game where the teams were tied 0 - 0 at the end of the match and in overtime play. Outscoring their opponents 17 to 1, the 95 Lady Thunder scored some spectacular goals accompanied by great team play and overall great defending. The back line for the Lady Thunder let in only one goal all tournament while the goals flowed up front. |

The U14 Girls Falcons from Henry County competed in the State Rec Cup Tournament this past Mothers Day weekend. We played two games on Saturday, tying the first 2-2 and winning the next 1-0. On Sunday morning we won our game 2-0 which put us into the Championship game that afternoon. We won the championship game 2-1. The girls played hard and made their parents and coach proud! We are traveling to Columbus this weekend to compete in the State round of the tournament. |

The U-14 girls Henry County Falcons competed in the State Rec cup tournament in Columbus this past weekend. Out of 28 teams to participate in the State Rec Cup, the Falcons were one of 8 teams to make it to Columbus. On the opening day of the Columbus round, the Falcons beat the NASA Sparks 1-0. Later that afternoon the Falcons played the Peachtree City Breakers and beat them 4-0. Sunday Morning we faced the CFC United with the winner going to the State Rec Championship and beat them 1-0 in an exciting game. The Falcons played against the GFC Mustangs in the championship game and lost 2-1. In a close match the Mustangs scored the winning goal with 3 minutes to go in the game giving the Falcons their first defeat of the season. These girls played hard all season and showed a ton of heart in this tournament. Their coaches and parents couldn't be more proud of them. |

Two Henry County U10 girls soccer teams participated in the 3rd Annual ASA Xtreme Cup Soccer Tournament in Cumming, GA on May 17-18, 2008. Eight teams from around Georgia participated in this division. Both Henry County teams advanced to the finals with the Henry County Sharks winning the championship game with a score of 2-1 against the Henry County Vipers. |

Under 10 Girls - Fury - Southern Soccerfest Finalists

Over the "Southern Soccerfest" weekend that took place November 22nd and 23rd, HCSA: Team FURY-U10-G scored an amazing 20 Goals and stood at the top in standings with a record of 3-1 though taking home 2nd place in their division. The team was formulated with which some of who had never played together. Only practicing together 2 times (less than 3 hours total) before the tournament, these girls proved that they could learn each others abilities and skills AND play hard, no matter how long they’d been together. Full of excitement and nervousness too, these girls pulled out some amazing passes, shots, and defensive moves, and never once gave up. The cool weather conditions had us all shaking and contemplating what would happen, but these remarkable young ladies managed to "bite the cold" and play hot and heavy.
In celebration, FURY girls were let loose with the hair clippers and shaved Coach Doug’s head (leaving adorable bangs), while Coach Kelly anticipated on having to do her back handspring (luckily getting out of that). |
