Where and When:

U8 Pre-Academy Evaluation will be January 27, 2024, from 11:30am to 12:30pm 

Field 8 at North Mount Carmel Park (307 N. Mt. Carmel Rd., Hampton, Ga. 30228). 

Please arrive 15 minutes early, we’ll start promptly at 11:30 am.  Please wear proper soccer attire, bring a ball, and a water bottle.

What is the Academy program? 

The Academy program is designed to teach players between the ages of 5 to 8 the fundamental skills needed to succeed now and into the future. Players will receive professional coaching 2 days a week.

Who can attend? 

Any player that has the desire to elevate their game to the next level is encouraged to attend. At the academy level we aren’t looking for all star players, we make all star players.  Any player in the U7 or U8 age groups whose birthdate falls within the specified time periods is eligible to play.

Get a leg up on the competition: 
Learn ball control and the fundamental skills that will give you an advantage now and into the future.  The focus of the Pre-Academy is to develop these skills at an early age through the repetition of proper technique.

What is the U8 Academy of Excellence?

The U8 Pre-Academy program bridges the gap between the HCSA Recreational Program and the Atlanta Fire United South Academy. The U8 Pre-Academy debuted as a pilot program in the Fall of 2005. Currently in it’s fourth season, the U8 Pre-Academy has grown steadlily since it’s inception. The program provides additional challenges in a more structured soccer environment and is intended for participants in the U7 - U8 age groups who possess good basic soccer skills and desire to excel.

The U8 Pre-Academy replaces Recreational Program participation for U7/U8 participants. They train twice a week with a U8 Pre-Academy staff coach. All matches are played within the U8 Pre-Academy structure, with a selected staff coach for weekend games.

Who can participate?

Any player in the U7 or U8 age groups whose birthdate falls within the specified time periods is eligible to play.

The player-candidates for the U8 Pre-Academy must be evaluated by the Atlanta Fire United South's coaching staff before participation is allowed.

When do the kids play?

Each Pre-Academy season lasts approximately twelve weeks. The Fall season training begins the second week of August with games beginning the second Saturday in September. Spring season training begins the second week of February with games beginning the first Saturday in March.

Where do the kids play?

Training and practice sessions with be at North Mount Carmel Park in Hampton.

What equipment is needed to play? 

• Shinguards are mandatory
• Soccer cleats.
• Size 3 ball
• Water bottle
• Practice attire is Black socks, Black shorts, and a Grey AFU shirt.

How much does it cost to participate?

Participation cost $300.00 per season.
