Atlanta Fire United South - Announcement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Atlanta Fire United and Henry County United are excited to announce an affiliation, which will rebrand Henry County United as Atlanta Fire United South.  This partnership will align two longstanding clubs and provide all players a pathway to play at all levels. 

This agreement with Henry County United will give AFU over 3500 players throughout the combined clubs, making AFU one of the largest clubs in Georgia. The attached map shows our expanded footprint, including Mount Carmel Park, among the largest practice facilities in the southeastern U.S. The directors of the both clubs share the same club vision, player development philosophy, as well as, common goals that will provide the optimal experience for all players within AFU and AFU South

Here are some key benefits of the new affiliation will include.  

 

  • Players on the south side of Atlanta will benefit from the top programs and leagues in the Country i.e. ECNL, SCCL
  • Coaches will benefit from additional learning, collaboration and interaction with another coaching staff that shares a similar philosophy.
  • AFU South will enhance the visibility and exposure of AFU across south metro Atlanta
  • AFU and AFU South will continue to apply together for additional top programs and leagues

AFU leadership is confident that this partnership will strengthen our program and, more importantly, our ability to promote the game, improve opportunities for our players and serve our communities.

“These are exciting times for our players, parents and coaches at AFU South.  Players on the Southside of Atlanta will now have opportunities with ECNL, the newly formed SCCL, Super Y and more.  HCU will now be able to offer a pathway for our players to play at all levels”
